Title: Senior Technical Advisor - Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Management

Reports to: Director of Program Quality and Innovation

Location: Country Office, Kathmandu

Travel required: Plan International Nepal working districts

Grade: E

Type: Fixed term employment of 2 years from date of employment; based in Country Office.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Disaster Risk Management/Risk Reduction, Humanitarian Degree, International Development or any other relevant field 
• Minimum 7 years of experience in relevant field with 3 years of demonstrated experience working in a senior position leading, advising or managing Disaster Management program portfolio and managing resources (budget, staff etc);
• Demonstrated experience in climate change and/or disaster related program management including program design, implementation and evaluation and resource management;
• In depth practical knowledge of inter disciplinary development issues affecting children, women and families;
• Demonstrated experience in successfully using key influencing strategies such as advocacy, lobbying, movement building, or policy development;
• Experienced in carrying out power, policy and political analysis to inform strategies and projects.
