Education:

• Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in management of development with agriculture science, natural resource management or any other related fields. OR
• A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas mentioned above in combination with 2 additional years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of Master´s degree.

Experience:

• Minimum five years (with Master´s degree) or seven years (with Bachelor´s degree) of progressive experience working in decentralized agriculture extension system and agriculture value chain or relevant related field is required.
• At least 5 years of proven experience of managing bilateral, multilateral donors funded agriculture projects and its implementation in Nepal.
• Experience of working in food security and agriculture rural livelihood,
• Good understanding of current agriculture plans and policies of the Government of Nepal and familiar with various initiatives at provincial and local levels through various stakeholders (ministries and local bodies)
• Through understanding of gender and social inclusion and practical experience of integrating it into the agriculture sector.
• More than 5 years’ hands on experience in designing projects, project planning, implementation, and monitoring.
• Substantial working experience of coordination and collaboration with private sector, and different spheres of government- local, provincial, and federal government.
• Good technical knowledge/experience on agriculture value-chain, agriculture and land use, land tenure, agro-forestry.
• Experience in project management and project delivery
• Well versed in computer applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Good knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Office Good understanding of other application for data management and project monitoring
• Prior experience with UNDP, I/NGOS and knowledge of its policies, procedures and practice will be an asset.
• Good understanding of other application for data management and project monitoring
• Proven experience in overseeing and ensuring technical soundness of research and analysis.
• Good understanding of UNDP rules and procedures
• An experience of completing UNDP project management assignments
• Sound understanding/experience of agriculture policies, agriculture research and hands on experience and expertise of agriculture extension and research systems in Nepal.
• Proven experience of managing and supervising a team – comprising of more than 20 multidisciplinary professionals.

Required Languages:

• Fluency in English and Nepali at professional level.
