Academic Qualification

  • Master's degree in Slaughterhouse operation and management, veterinary science, MBA, or a related field.

 

Age

  • Not exceeding 45 years as of the application deadline.

 

Required Competency:

  • International and regional experience in meat processing and/or food-related industry.
  • Knowledge of food processing industry standards and procedures, such as ISO and HACCP.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access.
  • Dedicated, honest, and hardworking, flexible in working time.
  • Fluency in English & Nepali.

 

Note: 

  • Candidates having at least 5-7 years of professional experience relevant to slaughterhouse operations and/or meat industry experience are highly desirable. 
  • Candidates having their two-wheeler and its license shall be given preference.

 

Job Description:

  • Overall, it is responsible for recommending implementation measures for production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and efficiency.
  • Develop and provide proposals for the whole slaughterhouse value chain, including animal supply, animal handling, processing, storage, and meat distribution up to the meat shops, hotels, restaurants, civil, etc.
  • Develop and implement the operational manual, guidelines, and SOPs for the processing line, including animal unloading, veterinary inspection, handling, machinery operations, slaughtering, skin removal, dressing, quartering, deboning, storing, packing, and waste management, including safety regulations.
  • Develop procedures for inspecting materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Provide daily operations guidelines and support to the slaughterhouse team members.
  • Specify S.H. employee training requirements, e.g., in equipment operations, work and safety procedures, etc.
  • Establish a coordination mechanism between S.H. employees engaged in veterinary and inspection services, operation, management, administration, and other staff.
  • Establish work schedules, assignments, job descriptions, and production sequences (shift work) for the slaughterhouse employee to meet production goals.
  • Estimate supplies, utilities, equipment spare parts, or maintenance and repair services needed for a specific period.
  • Provide technical advice to set up and adjust machines and equipment as required.
  • Suggest and implement the software system in the slaughterhouse for day-to-day operations, supply, output, cost, etc.
  • Calculate labor and equipment requirements and production specifications using standard formulas.
  • Recommend the development of new products and production processes.
  • Develop a meat promotion and marketing plan, comply with all health standards, etc.
  • Introduce, implement, and review the food literacy campaign for better meat consumption.
  • Overall responsible for the development & implementation of the marketing strategy of the company to create, strengthen & expansion of marketing network & business volume.
  • Prepare and execute a plan for Branding and Marketing on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Identify the effectiveness and impact of current marketing initiatives with tracking and analysis and optimize accordingly.
  • Ensure that products and services meet customers' expectations and build the credibility of brands.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
