Accountable to: Chair Nepal Country Steering Committee 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

The key responsibilities include: 

  • Lead the development of Nepal The Down to Zero (DtZ) SUFASEC programme strategy and country engagement plans and facilitate implementation it. 
  • Supports the Country Team and Steering Committee by initiating and chairing Country/Cross Country Team meetings and Country Steering Committee meetings.
  • Provides coordination and facilitation to the Country Team and Country Steering Committee by facilitating to connect and align, discuss the programme, exchange information on best practices/lessons learned, share concerns and opportunities including joint activities. 
  • Facilitate the Country Steering Committees to take decisions regarding the programme, including PMEL, learning, capacity building, joint national lobby and advocacy and allocation and monitoring of the shared country budget.   
  • Manage the shared country budget and provides a process for decision-making by the Country/Cross Country Steering Committee on how this budget is used.
  • Provides transparent information flows that are accessible, clear, timely and effective. This includes sharing information with Country/Cross Country alliance members and implementing partners coming from Desk and vice versa. 
  • Coordinates Annual Outcome Harvesting sessions and facilitates Country/Cross Country and regional learning. 
  • Provides planning and writes annual consolidated reports and consolidates annual plans for the country or countries, based on reports from alliance members/partners. 
  • Leads gender and social inclusion (GESI) mainstreaming in the partner organisations and supports CSC monitor GESI sensitivity.
  • Leads knowledge management and heads research, studies and evidence generation
  • Oversee programme cycles and designs monitoring and evaluations.

 

Person Specification:

  • Team Leader, able to liaise and collaborate with different stakeholders, someone that connects, has proven people and coordination skills in alliance work in one or multiple countries of the programme.
  • Ability to maintain an independent attitude and behaviour to ensure the position equally serves all alliance members and partners.
  • Proven experience writing donor reports and annual plans in English for the development sector, preferably in the protection from violence domain.
  • Excellent proficiency in the local language(s) and intercultural skills for working in an international setting. 
  • Proven experience of mainstreaming of gender and social inclusion and application of critical and intersectional gender transformative approach and pro-feminism.
  • Proven work experience coordinating programme-related PMEL processes.
  • Excellent professional and ethical standards aligning with those of the respective Alliance members and partners.
  • Willingness to sign and behave according to the professional and ethical standard as outlined in the Alliance’s Safeguarding protocol and Code of Conduct.
  • Knowledge on SRHR, children and young people living and working in difficult circumstance.

What the country steering committee offers:

This is a full time position, linked to the duration of the program starting in August 2023 and finishing in April 2026. The remuneration will be between Euro 10,000 to Euro 13,000 per annum (subject to exchange rate fluctuation).
