Job Description:
- Lead the English department at the secondary level, overseeing curriculum development, implementation, and assessment.
- Design and deliver high-quality English language and literature instruction, incorporating best practices and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Collaborate with departmental colleagues to develop unit plans, assessments, and instructional materials that align with SEE Curriculum standards and educational objectives.
- Provide instructional leadership and support to English teachers, including mentoring, coaching, and facilitating professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, critical thinking, and communication skills development.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor student progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement targeted interventions as needed.
- Participate in departmental and school-wide meetings, committees, and professional development activities to support school initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English or (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, with demonstrated expertise in secondary level English instruction.
- Strong knowledge of English language and literature curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, administrators, students, and parents/guardians.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
