GESI and Safeguarding Officer

Funding Agency: South Asia Co-operative Environment Programme (Fund Manager) on the behalf of World Bank.

 

Key Responsibilities

GESI Integration:

  • Develop and implement GESI strategies and action plans for construction projects, trading activities, and program execution.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure GESI considerations are integrated into project planning and implementation.

 

Safeguarding Implementation:

  •  Design and implement safeguarding policies and procedures to protect employees, clients, and communities involved in construction and trading activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address safeguarding concerns.

 

Training and Awareness:

  • Conduct GESI and safeguarding training sessions for employees, subcontractors, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Raise awareness of GESI issues and safeguarding principles within the organization.

 

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Establish monitoring mechanisms to track and assess the effectiveness of GESI and safeguarding measures.
  • Prepare regular reports on GESI and safeguarding compliance and provide recommendations for improvement.

 

Collaboration and Advocacy:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advocate for GESI and safeguarding best practices.
  • Participate in relevant forums and networks to stay informed about industry standards and advancements.

 

Incident Response:

  • Develop and implement an incident reporting system for GESI and safeguarding concerns.
  •  Respond promptly to incidents, conduct investigations, and implement corrective actions.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in GESI and safeguarding, with a focus on construction, trading, or program execution.
  •  Knowledge of relevant national and international GESI and safeguarding standards.
  • Strong communication and training facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence change.
