Other Specification:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in accounts, finance; or other related field with at least five years of relevant professional experience; or a master’s degree with three years of relevant experience.

 

Preferred skillset:

  1. Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and interpretation, utilizing tools such as MS Excel, financial software(s), and databases.
  2. Competent research and writing skills.
  3. Strong understanding of investment principles, financial markets, and economic trends.

Position Overview

The Financial Analyst will be an integral member of the VRock team, working towards shaping policies that contribute to the timely implementation of projects in Nepal’s energy and infrastructure sectors. He/she will be responsible for leading the assigned tasks as part of VRock’s broader management and development advisory service deliverables. An ideal candidate should be a team player, open to new ideas, willing to update existing skills and master new concepts while thriving in a dynamic and inclusive work environment for creative problem-solving. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis and assessments of development and infrastructure projects, including reviewing and preparing feasibility studies, financial analysis reports, presentations, and other required documentation.
  • Develop and review complex infrastructure financial models and financial analysis. Be conversant with project financing, regulatory finance, debt syndication, bond financing, and infrastructure deal advisory. Understanding of financing structures, particularly debt and equity finance and other types of project-based financing.
  • Collaborate with government entities, development partners, and stakeholders to gather and analyze data and information. Identify key stakeholders and build trust-based relationships for effective engagement, including regulators, government officials, private sector professionals, and development partners.
  • Conduct research-based analytical studies and prepare technical reports on relevant topics pertaining to the development sector; share key findings through reports, workshops, and presentations tailored for high-level stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, economic developments, and market dynamics that could impact the financial landscape, and incorporate these insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Provide timely updates on delegated responsibilities to the project manager, including preparing progress reports, status updates, and evidence of achieved milestones aligned with program objectives and milestones.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, consultants, and sector experts, to gather insights, share knowledge, and contribute to holistic project solutions.
  • Offer operational support for travel and field-based activities, while also performing other tasks as assigned by the project manager and VRock management.
