  • Masters' degree in finance, Economics, Business, or a related field  
  • At least 5 years of experience in a related field in the development sector.

Job Description:

 

Reports to: Executive Chair   


Field Visits: 15%-time field travel


Duration: 01 Aug 2023 to 31 July 2024 (Extendable if funding and need permits).

 

Core Function:   
The Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the finance department to track, update and review financial transactions, documents review, and ensure a proper budget code is used. Similarly, assist the department to record financial transactions into TALLY Systems, and maintain the books of account or records up to date.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Collect and review the invoices, and supporting documents, and process for payments ensuring all financial policies and procedures of LACC are followed.  
  • Establish and maintain internal financial and administration procedures compatible with the country's law the organization's financial policy and donor requirements
  • Ensure that proper financial and administrative procedures are adhered to and maintained at head office, branch office as well as project offices
  • Work with the programme team, support budgeting, financial planning and financial monitoring.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions including regular cash verification cash bank reconciliation, monthly cashbooks closing, advance reconciliation, and timely submission of accounts to Executive directors. 
  • Review travel expenditure report and supporting documents for settlement of travel advance.
  • Supports the supervisor in the day-to-day activities of the finance department.
  • Manage HR staff administration in accordance with the organization's policies.
  • Ensure that all staff personnel records and properly maintained and regular update.
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.  
  • Perform procurements (services and products) following the procurement procedure.
