Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the office, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with local financial legal requirements, enforce adherence to requirements, and advise management on needed actions.
- Manage and process payroll, reimbursements, and other related financial transactions.
- Oversee administrative functions to ensure efficient and consistent operations as the organization scales.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and financial consultants, coordinating audits and ensuring the proper filing of tax returns.
- Ensure the tax calculation and deduction per the Income Tax Act of Nepal. Preparation of Tax, cheque, and deposition on time.
- Develop and implement office policies by setting up procedures and standards to guide the operation of the office.
- Procure office supplies; manage inventory effectively.
- Report regularly to the Country Director/Deputy Country Director.
- Assist in the compilation of monthly financial reports to the Binaytara Foundation headquarters.
- Other relevant duties as assigned by the leadership.
- Ensure that all financial and administrative documents are accurately maintained and filed.
- Support project teams with financial guidance and insights, facilitating project planning, execution, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is preferred.
- At least five or more years of proven working experience as a finance officer/accountant overseeing financial management and processes in international organizations (INGOs).
- Demonstrated expertise in financial management, budgeting, and accounting practices. Preference given to someone with proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English and Nepali.
- Knowledge of local legal and regulatory requirements related to finance and administration in Nepal.
- Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
- Proven ability to solve problems independently without direct supervision and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel within Nepal as required.
