MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance w/Grant/Donor requirements.
- Ensure LDRs of field staffs are prepared, signed and filed as required.
- Specifically, those related to salary and benefits charged to grants funded projects.
- Ensure retention of financial documents prepared by the grant’s projects.
- Maintain proper Grant file for each project ensuring all documents/information required for future audit and reviews
- Work closely with Project Manager/Specialist on donor compliance issues and procedures, advice on possible disallowed costs, budget amendment(s)
- financial audits and internal auditors on Risk Based Audits, provide required information and documentation, coordinate explanations as required Follow up on Audit Recommendations implementation in a timely manner.
- Ensure donor’s compliance in purchases and management of assets for grants projects are fully complied.
- Ensure implementation of audit recommendations are fully implemented.
- Review and ensure the Cost allocation for the grant’s projects considering the donor’s limit
- Maintain overall budget control and monitor cash flows and expenditures of grant/ PNS projects
- Lead the development and implementation of the annual project operating budget, monitor actual performance and develop project projection
- Prepare financial reports in donor’s formats as required and send to respective Managers and supervisor for finalization.
- Analyze grant financial reports and initiate any adjustment and corrections as necessary.
- Actively follow-up on any issues identified in the monthly Financial Report reviews.
- Ensure grants tracking reports are periodically prepared and grants related information are adequately captured in the report
- Follow up on variance explanations and projections with Project Managers/Operation Team
- Resolve / Respond to Financial queries related to Grants/ PNS projects
- Ensure institutional understanding of donor regulations
- Research and share knowledge of key donors’ regulations/guidelines with colleagues in program and finance departments including field level
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all budget holders, providing sound advice on grant financial management and compliance
- Train field staff in the application and interpretation of grants financial management practices
- Train the local partner organizations in financial management and reporting according to WV and donors’ guidelines and requirements.
- Regularly communicate grants financial management practices to colleagues in program and finance departments within field and NO.
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE:
Required Professional Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of finance, accounts or Grants Finance Management
- Demonstrated experience in the use of MS office Package (Word/Excel/PowerPoint etc.) & Internet
- Experience and knowledge of major donors like USAID, DFID, AusAid, ECHO, Global Fund, ADH, UN System in which experience with MOFA Japan preferred
- Experience of working in a computerized accounting environment. (Sun Systems, Vision XL & Executive, others)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in independently handling Finance and accounts of grants funded projects
- Demonstrated Mentoring, Orientation & Training Skill
- Good interpersonal, problem solving & time management skills
- Willingness to work under pressure with tight deadlines and to travel across the project areas.
Required Education, training, license, registration and certification - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or related field.
- Preferred MBA in Finance MSC in Finance/Accounting/Auditing or Qualified Accountant from Professional body like CA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
- General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent computer literacy & skill of MS office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/internet etc.)
- Good command of English & Nepali languages (written & spoken)
- Practical knowledge of project budgeting, accounting & reporting
- Able to articulate and communicate ideas well verbally and in writing
- Understanding of World Vision Financial System & procedures
- Good interpersonal skills.

- Must be able to interact with a diverse groups Able to work on a cross-cultural environment with a multi- national staff
