The Main Responsibilities:

  1. Safe and Empowering Work Place: Building a safe and empowering work environment for enhancing the performance of the team members. 
  2. Professional Working Culture Development: Working on sourcing recruiting, onboarding, and other aspects of HR development to build the best working culture at KVSS
  3. Employee Engagement: Improve employee engagement for better outcomes by building a motivating environment. 

 

1. Safe and Empowering Work Place: Building a safe and empowering work environment for enhancing the performance of the team members.

  • Ensure team members have a safe place to function and to share grievances.
  • Function as the Confidence Person for the team members to share the issues they face and respond to them confidentially. 
  • Take the role of Focal Person for responding to the incident reports in collaboration with the relevant team members and reporting the progress to the leadership team as defined. 
  • Build an annual professional development plan for the individual roles based on the performance review recommendation and in line with the strategic goals. 
  • Research, identify, and organize professional development activities including training and mentorships. 
  • Build a learning community including promoting the practice of providing feedback, and learning opportunities for the professional growth of the team members.

 

2. Professional Working Culture Development: Working on sourcing recruiting, onboarding, and other aspects of HR development to build the best working culture at KVSS.

  • Support the recruitment process to maintain the highest standards so that the organization can attract the best talent. 
  • Organize staff events for fostering team building. 
  • Prepare an annual plan and execute the wellness activities for the team members. 
  • Organize sessions including motivational speaking series, video documentaries, and discussions on innovations to improve the learning of the team members. 
  • Conduct a benefits survey periodically to recommend adjustments in the salary and benefits for the team members.
  • Based on the research and latest approaches, build a supportive and collaborative working environment fostering inter-team collaboration and support. 
  • Study and provide recommendations to the leadership team for improvement in the infrastructure required for a dignified working environment. 

 

3. HR Administration: Support the day-to-day management of HR functions to foster transparency and accountability in the team. 

  • Ensure policy enforcement in the organization. Work with the leadership team to update existing policies to make them progressive and foster innovation. 
  • Work with each team member, manager, and all the functions coaching and mentoring them to support achieving their goals. 
  • Build a short and long-term HR plan for the organization in line with its strategic plan. 
  • Develop annual SMART goals and key results corresponding to each HR goal designed into a results-based framework execute on the quarterly goals. Ensure that each HR goal and key result is achieved as per the set timeline and standard defined in the plan.
  • Support the leadership team in problem-solving and strategic decision-making related to human resource management. 
  • Work with the HR team and provide support in all the HR functions.

 

Additional Expectations:

  • Build positive working relationships and environment in the organization by bringing solutions to the discussion table. 
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions and execution of duties. 
  • Report to the manager every week, and as needed in case of urgent issues. 
  • Promote team alignment on the org-wide decisions.  
  • Ensure and enforce confidentiality in collected information/data as per school codes.
  • Work closely with the funding partner BlinkNow Foundation to ensure the strategic and vision alignment to ensure implementation of the strategic plan. 
  • Embrace and support the values of gender equity, social inclusion, and sustainability.

 

Must Haves:

  • Education: Graduate in Management (HR Specialization preferred)
  • Experience: At least 5+ years of proven HR Management experience
  • Language: Good communicator, and fluent in English and Nepali would be an added advantage
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to manage, good communicator, passionate about and cares for children and vulnerable populations; initiator, and competent in using any HR systems and tools. Works collaboratively and independently with the least supervision required.
