Responsibilities:
- Assistant Brewer oversees and directs all brewing processes including, but not limited to, raw material selection, recipe formulation, production schedules, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and finished product quality assurance/quality control procedures.
- Execute brewing production from start to finish and create brewing, filtration and bottling schedules.
- Operate and oversee all functions of the brewery, including; wort production, fermentation / cellaring process, canning QC & QA checks, CIP procedures, and detailed record keeping.
- Oversee and develop the brew house staff through technical, supervisory, and line assignments in all functions supported by standard job descriptions.
- Ensure proper fermentation process, including handling of yeast, cell counts, pitch rates, etc.
- Manage brewery team, train staff, schedule shifts, and encourage an overall positive environment.
- New product development, recipe creation, scaling, etc.
- Compiling brewing data like OG, wort cooling temperature etc are as per norms
- Others as per assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of Experience in a leading Brewing Position.
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Certificate from an accredited brewing science school
- Passion to create, innovate, and assist for craft beer.
- Organizational ability to manage all day-to-day operations of brewery production.
- Managerial skills to organize, guide, and supervise the production team.
- Flexibility to work long hours when needed to maintain production obligations.
- Ability to create consistent, timely production of core styles.
- Ability to safely work with common brewing chemicals.
- Packaging, racking, canning/bottling experience.
