Siddhasthali Rural Community Hospital

Siddhasthali Rural Community Hospital (SRCH) is a not-for-profit charitable medical facility located in Hetauda, Ward no.6, Makwanpur, Nepal. Established in 2019 by  Mountain Heart Nepal (NGO), the hospital initially received support from Direct Relief, one of the world’s top ten best charities. 

 The hospital is governed by five boards of directors who are young medical doctors with diverse medical expertise and proven leadership. The Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City Office has provided a license to operate the main hospital, and its satellite clinics are registered and regulated by each local body. 

SRCH’s not-for-profit status means it cannot receive equity funding. To build the hospital and achieve self-sustainability in its early years, donor funding serves as the primary source of working capital. Additionally, the hospital also receives government grants, individual and corporate donations. Once the hospital becomes operational and produces surplus revenue through service fees, these funds are reinvested into the hospital’s mission and programs. 

Embodying the spirit of democracy, SRCH’s inclusive collaboration with vulnerable communities contributes to sustainable development goals. The hospital acts as a lifesaver, problem solver, job creator, trusted advisor and revenue generator in enhancing health, education and resilience. But, more than that, the hospital is a connector, link and leader in connecting people from rural to urban areas to receive affordable and accessible health services.
