Other Specification:

• A formal engineering qualification (Bachelor’s Degree, Masters more preferred) – likely to be Electrical or control based
• Mainly hydro but a knowledge of solar or other generation would be valuable
• 7+ years’ experience with a contractor or Engineering consultancy
• Site experience related to generation and control
• Knowledge of UK engineering codes desirable
• Good ability with engineering calculations and design reports
• Knowledge of M365 and SharePoint desirable
• IELTS B1 / B2 English language written & spoken 
• Able to work within a dynamic environment with good attention to detail
• Able to work to tight deadlines and self-manage priorities against multiple tasks.

Job Description:

• Specialist in Electrical power systems with a deep knowledge of control and automation
• Creation of technical documents and reports associated with various projects 
• Outline and detailed design and specification of Control and electrical power projects including the civil and mechanical interfaces.
• Examining the engineering requirements of designs and comparing this with the commercial and site constraints.
• Liaison between project managers and site staff/contractors.
• Organize yourself and a small team of engineers, technicians (and others) working on a variety of projects.
• Assign & manage hours for each project and manage resource so that people are fully utilized
• Know the sequence of jobs (in the office) and pre-empt the need for information/client input
• Manage the interface between the site-based contractor’s staff and the designers and help in resolving site based design changes.
• Work as part of a team to suggest improvements which will benefit our clients.

Shift Work:

• The post will be required to undertake some shift work (early or late) 
• Weekend work will be required from time to time
• Overtime will be paid where appropriate.
