• Bachelor’s degree in Science with a minimum of 3 years experience in a related field
• Working experience operating electrical and non-electrical laboratory equipment
• Comfortable handling potentially dangerous substances (flammable liquids, biohazards, etc.)
• Good command in the English language (Written/Spoken)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills having knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Ability to work autonomously and under pressure

Job Description:

• Provide technician support for the Science Faculty
• Prepare apparatus, materials and solutions as directed by the head of the Science Faculty
• Set up, check and issue, equipment and apparatus for use in practical lessons
• Disposal of waste laboratory materials including materials including chemicals, micro biological waste etc. in accordance with Health and Safety requirements
• Maintain required records and logs of all maintenance and servicing of equipment & facilities.
• Maintain lab documentation systems including organization of work sheets, filing, hazard data, legal records and risk assessments
• Cleaning, sterilizing, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment
• Providing technical support, when necessary
• Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments.
