Level of Effort (LoE): NHRSP (75%) and Durable Solutions-III (25%)

 

Basic Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or any other equivalent degree in Civil Engineering and/or Architecture.
  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in similar roles with an I/NGO in emergency response or recovery housing and settlement programming. Additional experience may substitute for some education.
  •  Report writing skills required.
  •  Demonstrated knowledge of municipal bylaws and reconstruction procedures and practices in Nepal.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including legal institutions, local governments and policymakers.
  •  Demonstrated ability to represent the organization at coordination meetings with donors, local government, coordination bodies, and other international NGOs required
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, and information management systems.

 

Required/Desired Foreign Language: Able to clearly communicate in written and spoken English.

 

Travel Required: Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% to municipalities covered by NHSRP in Karnali Province.

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Candidates with GESI diversity is a plus, including gender (female, other); marginalized groups; persons with disability; and, origin from geographically marginalized location
  •  Local expertise w/ permanent address in project district and local language competency is a plus.
  • Experience monitoring projects and collecting relevant data.
  •  Experience conducting research.

  •  Internal: NHSRP National Technical Coordinator, NHSRP National Technical Coordinator, NHSRP-PMT, NHSRP-SMT, PIN Project Manager, PIN Program Team.
  • External: Province Disaster Management Committee (PDMC), District Disaster Management Committee (DDMC), Local Disaster Management Committees (LDMC), District Administration Offices (DAO), local governments (Municipalities and rural municipalities), ward offices, Office of District Coordination Committee (DCC), other Stakeholders including UN, Red Cross, Donors, and Partner Organizations working in Recovery and Reconstruction, NHSRP Strategic Advisory Group (SAG), Universities, Associations, Private Sector, media and Community Groups.
