Location: (Madhesh and Karnali/Sudurpashchim), NEPAL
Starting Date: (date when the selected candidate is expected to start) 03-Oct-2023
Duration of Initial Contract: 12 months (with possibility of extension).
Expected Duration of Assignment: 12 months (with possibility of extension).
Education and certification:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in social sciences, human rights, Gender/Women's Studies, international development, or a related field is required.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience at the national or international level in programme management, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
- Demonstrable professional experience in the field of gender equality and empowerment of women
- Demonstrable leadership, coordination and facilitation skills
- Experience coordinating and liasing with government agencies and/or donors
- Prior experience working with provincial government and local government would be an asset.
- Experience in the United Nations systems is an asset.
- Field experience at provincial and local level is an asset.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English and Nepali is required;
- Working knowledge in another official UN language is an asset.
