Responsibilities:

Project officer will be primarily responsible for overall project implementation in the areas of health and WASH related activities. Coordination with different stakeholders, other projects, WASH groups, mother groups, student, health post, hospitals and government unit as per the scope of the project.

The WASH officer should lead and guide WASH meetings, conduct WASH trainings to carry out overall activities such as community mobilization/organization, team motivation, increasing capacity of the community to plan the sustainable and community friendly scheme, carry out monitoring and supervision. Furthermore, s/he should conduct gender sensitivity awareness raising activities.

Deliverables:

• Develop and plan for training events and materials
• Support and facilitate regular WASH meetings in schools for teachers, students’ community groups and get support of parents to keep their children safe and clean.
• Carry outWASH related health and hygiene promotion program at school, community such as promote use of clean latrine, wash hands with soap,maintain clean environment in school and communities.
• Ensure that water source and supply system are kept clean andwell maintained
• Identify and form relevant maintenance teams in schools and facilitate knowledge transfer for proper maintenance
• Initiate and support community stakeholders to prepare and execute community action plan (CAP)
• Timely activity and financial reporting to line manager
• Monitor and evaluate project to ensure outcomes are achieved.

Requirements:

• At least a bachelor’s degree or above with specialization in the fields of public health, engineering, Environmental Science, Natural resource management or other relevant field.
• Minimum 3yearsof relevant work experience.
• Equipped withresult-based management skill with dynamic team player capacity.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working in rural situation.
• Strong analytical problem-solving abilityand creativity to bringnew systems to the project.
• Experience inWASHsystem development and manage effectively with minority people group.
• Learning attitude and willingness to develop technical expertise.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Nepal.
