Programme Manager ( Fight Extreme Inequality)

Key responsibility includes:

  • Managing and implementing the programmes and projects under the thematic pillar “Fight Extreme Inequality” funded by various donors in close coordination with Partners and Programme team.
  • Leading the thematic Partnership Assessment Process, identify partners’ capacity development needs, and develop /implement capacity building plans.
  • Monitoring the thematic context on human rights, gender-based violence, social and political issues and governance; identify gaps, and make an appropriate adjustment in the priorities and strategies of programme.
  • Developing the capacity of the DCA staff and partners on inclusion, governance and human rights including right based approach.
  • Leading the revision of Theory of Change (ToC) on annual basis, considering the ToC developed in the Country Programme Development as well as International Strategy and Global Strategy of DCA Head Quarter.
  • Mainstreaming inclusion and GESI into DCA’s core projects, and other humanitarian and development programmes and projects.
  • Leading the concept note and proposals for back donor projects, under this thematic pillar in close collaboration with other thematic Programme Managers, Finance and Programme Funding team.
  • Liaising, collaborating and networking with donors, stakeholders, INGOs, CSOs, private sectors, movement-based organisations research institutions, and universities for policy analysis, evidence documentation and collective advocacy at different levels (local, national, regional and global).
  • Representing DCA at various local, national and global levels.
  • Coordinating with DCA HQ’s Policy Advocacy & Learning (PAL) Unit as required.
  • Facilitating Mid-term review, evaluation of programme and projects, sharing of learning to partners and DCA team.
  • Ensuring quality periodic reports from partners, as well as review and provide feedback to them.
  • Coordinating with Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) focal person ensuring mainstreaming of CHS in respective projects & programmes and implementation of complaints and feedback mechanisms in respective projects/programmes.

 

What you bring:

  • Master’s in Law, Human Rights, Governance, politics, international development, social science or any other related disciplines.
  • Minimum of seven years’ relevant experience working in a field related to governance and human rights, of which minimum five years in an international organisation with similar responsibilities.
  • Sound understanding of the political landscape and the socio-cultural environment of Nepal, including a clear understanding of the relevant federal governance institutional frameworks, policies, and strategies/guidelines.
  • Field level work experience in good governance related to social and economic justice issues as well as experience in advocacy on social and political rights and entitlements.
  • Experience in managing development programme and projects, policy dialogue and advocacy, and building coordination and collaboration between local government and CSOs.
  • A proven capacity for delivering timely results and taking responsibility for quality outcomes.
  • Experience in writing winning funding proposals.
  • Working and management experience with EU and other donors’ projects and formats.
  • Expertise on human right based approach.
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills
