Education Level: 

  • Master Degree or equivalent in human rights, international relations, law, disability, social work or any other related field.

 

Experience required: 

  • Proven Experience at the Senior officer level of a minimum of 7 years or Managerial level of a Minimum of 3 years. Mental Health Background is preferable.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & ESSENTIAL QUALITIES:

  • Master’s Degree in international relations, law, social work, or any other related field
  • Proven Experience at the Senior officer level of a minimum of 7 years or Managerial level of a Minimum of 3 years. Mental Health Background is preferable
  • Good understanding of the human rights-based approach, and legal framework of Nepal and familiarity with core International Human Rights Treaties ratified by Nepal
  • Good understanding and/or experience of working in inclusion, the life transformation of vulnerable communities
  • Willingness to have frequent field visits as per the need (40% in the field and 60% at the central level)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation & public relation skills in both English and Nepali
  • Able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure independently as well as in a team to bring tangible results
  • Highly developed team leadership skills
  • Well-developed understanding of Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate change, project management cycle including proposal development, implementation, and monitoring
  • Advanced skills in the use of spreadsheets, word-processing programs, and the internet
  • Empathetic, Energetic with a receptive learning attitude
  • Empathetic about mental health.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To lead in overall planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of existing projects (Develop DIP, half yearly, quarterly plan, periodic evaluation etc.)
  • To create, develop and implement projects as best practices that may be replicable by government and other stakeholders eventually.
  • To involve in project/ Program Development for scaling up the services in additional provincials and local levels.
  • To organize field visits in existing and new possible project areas of Nepal and ensure quality management of projects/programmes.
  • To create synergies and avenues among all the projects of awareness, advocacy as well as service deliveries.
  • Capacity building of the staffs of KOSHISH and implement initiatives to develop KOSHISH as a competitive organization 
  • To take lead to develop and quality control in Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials.
  • To maintain quality in monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual report before sharing it with stakeholders.
  • To harmonize organizational log frame and TOC into existing projects and in further program development
  • Communicate and lobby with high-level Government authorities and concerned stakeholders at federal level and funding partners
  • Organize events and make linkages to accelerate avenues and synergies in the sector of mental health and psychosocial disability in the Provinces and local levels
  • Supervise and mentor key project leaders and spearhead team building initiatives
  • Develop various policies for smooth operation of the organization and implement them in close collaboration with the team
  • Lead Organizational assessment and develop and implement action plans to rectify the identified weaknesses
  • Liaison between staff, board and Executive director for strategic intervention on behalf of the organization
  • Represent KOSHISH in different internal and external forums
  • Others as directed by the Executive Director.
