Your Tasks:
- Proactive written/oral analysis and strategy proposals on current political as well an economic affairs, thus supporting the Embassy’s ongoing reporting through independent research, in particular with the focus on:
- Nepal’s domestic policy, including the development of democracy, the transformation process, and federal structures
- Nepal’s foreign policy, including the Geopolitical and security situation, also in regional and multilateral organizations
- Nepal’s economic policy, also in a regional context
- Economic cooperation and sector development
- Environment and climate change impact policies
- Human Rights, Dealing with the Past, Women Peace & Security
- Security matters
- You will also be supporting colleagues with project work, delegations and events as well as social media and press.
- You will be the Embassy’s point of contact for Ministries and local organisations
- You would also assist with translation and interpretation during meetings.
Your Skills and Qualifications:
- You hold a Masters degree in political science, security studies, Law or journalism or any related subject
- You have professional experience in a related political environment
- You are a talented researcher, analysist and strategist with a network of contacts and will acquire indepth knowledge of the topics of interest to the Embassy
- You show an excellent command of English language in speaking, reading and writing ( or equivalent), experience with translation and/or interpretation would be an asset
- You show an excellent command of Nepali in speaking, reading and writing. Knowledge of other Nepali languages would be an asset.
- You already have adequate German language skills and/or are willing to learn up to reach a good command
- Any experience with social media and press communication would be an asset
- You have the ability to work in an independent and self-reliant way
- You are reliable, honest and diligent
- You are flexible and willing to also work outside normal working hours and on Nepali public holidays.
