Job Description:
aQysta Nepal Pvt Ltd is a company that focuses on building a holistic approach for smallholder farmers that combines the two interlinked themes: that of water and agriculture. aQysta provides the pumps via a holistic model, called the GROWN Farm Incubator. In the Grown Farm Incubator, aQysta collaborates with smallholder farmers as a partner. aQysta provides everything the smallholder farmers need to become more profitable, resilient, and ecologically sustainable. This entails supporting activities from supplying water for irrigation, agri-inputs to linking harvests to the existing and untapped markets and all things in-between. In doing so, farmers choose which services they need from aQysta, and share a percentage of the profit from harvest accordingly.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for coordinating a large part of aQysta’s GROWN related activities in Nepal. He/She will be the focal point for the sales and operations team and planning and managing all operations related to linking Agri-Commodities/Products (Fruits, Vegetables and spices) to different market segments i.e. Conventional markets, Processing Companies/Factories, Non-Conventional markets like marts, online, and B2B Restaurants and Hotels. Main responsibilities include strategic business development, managing sales and logistics. The work will be 50-50 individual (planning and analysing and partner relations) and co-working with the team such as Instructing junior team members and co-developing improvements for further expansion with the management team.
Responsibilities:
- Managing team members of the sales and operations team, including attendance, productivity and results of the team
- Strategic Business development to link agricultural produce to buyers (e.g. restaurants, hotels, wholesalers, processing industry)
- Improve operational procedures in sales and delivery
- Managing of revenues, gross margins and operational costs across supply chain (collaborate with Agronomists and financial officers)
- Assure the recording of above activities in aQysta’s CRM system and enforce use among the team.
- Manage ongoing value chain partnerships with development organizations in Nepal and implement market linkage activities as per plan
- Collaborate in strategy development for further business expansion.
- Provide support in the development and operations of export value chains.
