Education and experience:
- Master’s degree in Public health/Rehabilitation Science/Management or Development studies
- Should have minimum of 4 years’ experience in managing health related programs in developmental organization.
- Fluency in Nepali and English language. (Writing and speaking both).
Contract Type: Fixed term contract with three months of probation period.
Key responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
- Take the overall lead in implementing and managing the program of Khotang, Okhaldhunga, Solukhumbu, and Udayapur districts.
- Mobilize the area office team and Palika Coordinators and provide them with guidance and support.
- Make sure that thematic leaders of area office are visiting the palikas as per need and providing support to the Palika coordinator.
- Manage all disputes, issues, and challenges which come during the implementation process.
- Manage the operation of the area office, meeting all the compliances developed by the organization.
Planning
- Develop yearly and quarterly plan and budget of area office.
- Provide support to Palika Coordinators to develop annual and quarterly plan of Palikas.
- Collect and compile quarterly plan and budget of Palikas.
- Develop monthly calendar of different activities.
Implementation
- Ensure effective implementation of planned activities of Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Program in the municipalities of four districts.
- Provide all kinds of support to Palika Coordinators.
- Advocate issues of disability prevention and rehabilitation at the provincial and Rural and Urban Municipality level.
Coordination and communication
- Establish a strong relationship and maintain good rapport with the government entities, particularly stakeholders at the districts level ( DCC chair, DCC Deputy Chair, CDO, DHO etc.) and Mayors/Chairperson and Deputy Mayor/Vice Chairperson of municipalities and rural municipalities.
- Coordinate and establish networking with other government agencies and like-minded Non-Governmental Organizations working in the program areas.
Monitoring and Supervision
- Support to organize review meeting at area office level in coordination with Ministry of Social Development
- Conduct regular field and monitoring visits and provide necessary feedback and suggestions to the team and stakeholders.
Reporting and Documentation
- Ensure timely submission of plan and progress report of the program to the Monitoring and Evaluation Section for critical feedback.
- Support to maintain updated documentation of program activities and achievements, challenges and lessons learned.
Administration and Managing HR
- Make sure that all administrative works are progressing as according to the plan.
- Make sure that the financial transactions of the area office is properly recorded.
- Make sure that all admin and finance related compliances are strictly followed.
- Manage and supervise the joint district team.
Physical Demands
- Regular visits to the program areas up to health facilities and homes of persons with disabilities as and when required.
Other:
- Uphold the KFN policies and guidelines including Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)-related rules and the code of conduct.
- Participate actively in PSEA-related trainings and awareness-raising initiatives, supporting the distribution of PSEA materials, and reporting SEA allegations through the specified reporting channels.
- Participate in SEA complaints investigations as necessary.
- Recognize, eliminate, or reduce program risks connected to SEA (particularly for personnel involved in programming)
- Provide assistance in other KFN programs whenever needed.
- Coordinate with all KFN staff as and when necessary.
Other responsibilities consistent with the skills and experiences, as assigned by the supervisor.
