Duties and Responsibilities
The Duties and Responsibilities of Import Assistant include the following:
- Placing purchase order after obtaining Purchase Requisition & Coordinating with Store Manager and Sales Manager.
- Regular follow up with shipper regarding stock availability, payment terms and delivery status of the products.
- Selecting best forward for pickup & Delivery of consignment from Shipper’s Warehouse to TIA Customs considering suitable rate and previous record of service.
- Involve in rate negotiation with Bank, shipper and forwarder for the benefits of organization.
- Prepare Documentation for Opening LC, TT and other Import related documents to ensure the efficient import of consignment within stipulated time.
- Prepare Good received note.
- Follow up with local forwarder for brining consignment once it arrives in TIA customs.
- Prepare detailed Import Report of every consignment and communicate the same with the management for future planning and analysis.
- Prepare necessary documents for final endorsement and submit to the bank for release of NRB Margin.
- Track and prepare report of NRB Margin, LC Margin, Commission & Charges debited by banks.
- Regular follow up with Account department to ensure timely completion of recording of import files.
